I saw a very interesting video the other day about the ways to live a long life. They used examples of people reaching a 100 years of age or more, worldwide. They were talking about what these people had in common.

Of course DNA plays its part but you can do your best to keep yourself as healthy as possible.

They mentioned that the oldest men were living in a small countryside village in Sardinia, Italy. The oldest women were found in a small village in Okinawa, Japan. And they found a religious community in California living longer than the average American.

What cravings mean and know how to stop them

Have you ever thought about what cravings mean? I did. I’ve realised that the week before my period I always crave chocolate when normally I don’t really have a sweet tooth. True story. But I do like salty and stodgy food in general (maybe in winter) but that’s my taste or so I thought.

If you want to understand what cravings mean you have to look at your diet. Because if you constantly feel like eating certain kind of foods that means your body is asking you for something. I’m not saying that there’s a problem is you occasionaly want to treat yourself to an ice-cream or a piece of cake. I’m talking about looking for the wrong food because you are lacking the right nutrients in your diet. Continue reading

Lose weight part 4: the diary

So: did I lose weight this week?

Yes, I did lose weight.YAY.

The first two weeks I lost 3 kg in total, on the third week nothing much happened as I let go a bit and this last week I lost 1 kg. So I lost 4 kg in total. I went from 68 kg to 64 kg. I’m so pleased.

I measured myself as well:

belly: from 34.5 inches to 34 inches;

biceps: from 11 inches to 10 inches;

thighs: from: 23 inches to 22.5;

bum: from 39 inches to 38.5 inches;

I’m so happy that my commitment paid off. I will carry on my exercise routine and my diet until I reach my ideal weight. As I said: I’m not fat, I just want to be slimmer and healthier.
